Stag is the first ever open-source SIMP-Based Multi-Material Topology Optimisation (MMTO) plugin for Grasshopper which is intended to be used by non-engineers (such as Architects and Designers) who have a basic understanding of, but no expertise on, Topology Optimisation (TO) and its principles.
The plugin "Stag" is a result of collaborative research between the University of Applied Sciences Luebeck in Germany and Sejong University in the Republic of Korea. Within this research the University of Applied Sciences Luebeck holds responsible for the Grasshopper side of Stag including but not limited to all its components, user objects, data management, example files, graphics, operation, and outputs. The Grasshopper side of Stag was created by PhD student Efstathios Damtsas and was supervised by Professor Dr.-Ing. Michael Herrmann who is also the German-side Project Leader. Sejong University holds responsible for the Matlab side of Stag (namely the algorithm behind the Stag.exe standalone installer), its graphics, operation, and outputs. The Matlab side of Stag was created by postdoctoral researcher Dr. Thanh Banh and was superviser by Professor Dr.-Ing Dongkyu Lee who is also the Korean-side Project Leader.
